Financial Controller (Lelystad)

The financial controller reports to the head of reporting and consolidation and closely works together with the financial controllers and business control.

The job

The financial controller tasks include but are not limited to: 

• Play a key role in gathering and validating data from our businesses around the world;
• Jointly responsible for the (quarterly) external (stock market) reporting, (monthly) internal reporting and annual report;
• Jointly responsible for the implementation and roll out of the international finance manual;
• You are a sparring partner in the field of technical accounting (NL GAAP) for the internal stakeholders;
• Key user in the roll out of and maintaining the consolidation tool (AARO);
• Registering and tracking financial KPI’s and obligations such as net debt, leverage and contingent liabilities; 
• Reconciling IFRS disclosures, ensuring correct application of IFRS throughout the group;
• Creating efficiencies across financial processes and driving automation opportunities;
• Train, educate and help local entities other stakeholders in accounting/reporting related topics;
• Expanding and implementing the reporting framework, onboard acquired entities into the existing framework;
• First point of contact towards auditors and external stakeholders.

Profile

• A strong bookkeeping/accounting background is preferred Proactive and Self-motivated;  
• Flexible - occasionally it may be required to travel;
• Affinity with IT tools;
• Experience in an international or acquisition intensive environment is a big pre;
• Highly analytical, structured and proactive with a hands-on approach;
• Minimum Bachelor degree in accounting (is a pre), controlling, finance or similar;
• Excellent communicator with fluency in both Dutch and English. Knowledge Basic knowledge of tax reporting;
•  Basic knowledge of IFRS, knowledge of different GAAPs (US, NL, UK) is a plus;
• Know your way around regulatory/theoretical control frameworks;
• Advanced knowledge and experience in bookkeeping, drafting annual reports/management reports;
• Experience with Aaro/Fortnox and PowerBI is considered a pre;
• Affinity with IT tools; Skilled in Office 365 (Excel, Powerpoint).
